Employment Type: six-months Temporary Full Time
Annual Salary Range: Exempt Band 3, MIN $84,400.00 - MED $99,200.00 - MAX $114,000.00
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In addition, our pay philosophy is to align with the median of the comparable market and to be considerate of internal equity comparisons.

What you'll be doing...
This position is for a six-month temporary term
The Talent Advisor plays an essential role in the design, implementation and execution of the overall talent attraction strategy, in alignment with the business objectives in both BC Transit’s Strategic Plan and People and Culture Plan.
The position has a primary focus on building and maintaining strategic external relationships, as well as thinking outside traditional talent attraction strategies, in order to proactively attract the best talent for both current and future BC Transit positions.
You will leverage your full-cycle recruitment skills to develop and implement strategies for filling vacancies efficiently. You’ll design and execute creative, multi-channel sourcing strategies to reach both passive and active candidates. You will also provide expertise and guidance to People Leaders on best practices in job posting, screening, interviewing, and selection. A strong understanding of collective agreements and the ability to apply them effectively is essential. Additionally, you will recruit with a forward-thinking approach, building pipelines of qualified candidates for future opportunities while managing external relationships to promote BC Transit as an Employer of Choice.
This position is based in Victoria, BC and will operate based on hybrid work schedule of remote and in office work. Some travel to off-site career events will be required.

- Demonstrated experience in recruiting within complex unionized environments or Public Sector organizations
- Ability to partner with People & Culture Advisors and Hiring Managers to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies for the current and future states of the organization
- Demonstrated success building recruitment channels that attract a diverse workforce
- Expertise with tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Applicant Tracking Systems (SuccesFactors considered an asset) as well as other Social platforms

What next steps could look like...
- This is a temporary six month contract and will end on or before the agreed-upon date
- Interviews will take place in mid-February 2025.
