Employment Type:  Regular Full Time

Annual Salary Range: Exempt Band 4, MIN $90,800 - MED $106,900 - MAX $122,900

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In addition, our pay philosophy is to align with the median of the comparable market and to be considerate of internal equity comparisons.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Program Manager, Electrification Deployment, the Deployment Manager, Deployments will be responsible for liaising with BC Transit Program Managers, Department Managers, Project Managers, other internal business representatives, as well as contractors and external business representatives to achieve key project deliverables. This work will serve to advance the deployment of low carbon fleets into transit systems across the Province of BC.

This role will represent the needs of the Electrification Program by providing project leadership, direction, accountability and communication to key stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation for low carbon fleet projects deployments at BC Transit. Each low carbon fleet deployment project is anticipated to be a multi-year endeavor, comprised of several sub-projects for which designated functional area leads are accountable for their component of the integrated project (e.g. buses, infrastructure & utilities, information & technology systems and business operations). As part of this leadership role, this position serves as a program advisor, project liaison and primary contact for the collection of sub-projects associated with the deployment of battery electric buses into a transit system.

The Deployment Manager is a key team member of the electrification program and demonstrates passion and excitement for integrating new innovative technology in achievement of BC Transit’s greenhouse gas reduction targets by delivering projects that are fully integrated, cost-effective and sustainable.

What you'll bring to the table...

We value lifelong learners and have found that a mix of any of the following credentials have set people up for success in this role in the past:

  • Five (5) years related of proven experience leading complex construction or transportation projects of similar scope, scale, and complexity is a requirement of this position.
  • Minimum 10 years total work experience is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience managing projects in a public sector, government environment (or a similarly large private agency) is preferred.
  • Experience working with infrastructure planning, construction, public works, public transit or commercial vehicle transportation industry is preferred.
  • Experience leading transformational, enterprise change management projects and/or programs is considered is preferred.
