Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 11, MIN $7,025.00 - MAX $8,435.00 is available through annual general wage/step increases. (Group is currently under review)
Recruitment Range: MIN $7,025 – STEP $7,805.
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

What you'll be doing...
As a Fleet Inspector at BC Transit you are a subject matter expert in your field. You will be responsible for ensuring maintenance quality and adherence to BC Transit policies and procedures throughout the province. You will review and authorize maintenance expenditures as well as provide technical support, training, and guidance regarding maintenance repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles.
You possess strong technical knowledge and are highly analytical. You are adaptable and thrive on variety of work where no two days are the same. You are ready to take the next steps in your career and dive into a challenging, fast paced role with BC Transit. You will be able to resolve fleet maintenance issues on a daily basis and make recommendations. You will be able to share your knowledge by being involved in training as you assess, develop and deliver onsite and in-classroom training programs and presentations related to maintenance.

What you'll bring to the table...
We value lifelong learners and have found that a mix of any of the following credentials have set people up for success in this role in the past:
- Certificate of Qualification in the trade of Commercial Vehicle Transport, with advanced courses, or related fields,
- Class 2 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement;
- Eligible to become an authorized Inspector under the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program
- Eligible to obtain Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Certification
- Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP), Motor Vehicle Act, Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and National Safety Code (NSC)

- Considerable travel will be a requirement of this position
