Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 07, MIN $4,967.00 - MAX $5,953.00 is available through annual general wage/step increases.
Recruitment Range: MIN $4,967 – STEP 3 $5,515.
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

What you'll be doing...
The Partsperson maintains and controls an inventory of materials for use by BC Transit’s maintenance shops, including issuing stores material to maintenance personnel, ordering stock from suppliers, preparing requests to stock new items and monitoring re-order points, receiving, unloading, verifying and storing stock shipments from suppliers, shipping and receiving items to and from the Municipal Systems, promptly and accurately entering materials transactions to the Vehicle Maintenance System. This person will also perform inventory counts.
You will be performing a variety of administrative tasks to help the stockroom function smoothly including maintaining files, preparing forms and requisitions.
This is a Casual position meaning your work will be on-call in nature covering scheduled vacation and sick coverage as it comes up. This means you will be required to pick up shifts on short notice at both pf Victoria and Langford locations. The successful candidate will need to have reliable transportation to get to both locations.

What you'll bring to the table...
We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:
- Previous experience in inventory control and a familiarity with inventory software
- Class 5 driver’s license is required as well as the ability to obtain a license to operate a forklift
- Trade Certificate of Qualification (TQ) “Parts Person” or equivalent Red Seal Parts Certification is considered a strong asset

The physical requirements of the role...
- Ability to manually handle between 10 kg and 20 kg on a frequent basis, and up to 40 kg occasionally.
