What you'll be doing...
As the successful candidate, you will perform a variety of purchasing services involving major and medium level expenditures, long term or unique goods and services. Your primary focus will be to carry out the following core functions for the division:
- Administer complex multi-phase supply initiatives and issue and oversee the execution of Professional and General Services contracts.
- Develop, in consultation with user departments procurement documents
- Manage the competitive bid process with regards to acquisitions for revenue and non-revenue vehicles, capital equipment, construction, services, and materials including a variety of public procurement processes to support BC Transit
- Provide technical advice and guidance to departmental staff engaged in performing similar or associated procurement work
- As required, assists in the introduction of new products or services.
Projects will you have the opportunity to contribute to include:
• Battery electric buses
• Electronic fare collection system
• Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses
• Construction of environmentally friendly facilities
• Regional transit system

What you'll bring to the table...
You are well versed in the document driven side of procurement, as you will go beyond sending bids or tenders out to companies for quotes. You are someone who can drive the process, working with Project Managers and developing requirement, deliverables, outcomes and negotiations, from start to finish. You have worked on a variety of projects, ranging from four months to two years, and in varying scale.
Public experience would be an asset, as you will be working with trade agreements, so understanding trade and administrative law is essential, as well as understanding how contracts work.

- Interviews will take place between October 18 – 19th
- There may be an assignment/presentation as part of the interview process.
