We are part of the solution and what we do matters; from fighting climate change with battery electric buses, to affordability through cost effective transportation, to connecting remote communities, we bring the heart, soul and innovation to public transportation.

It’s an exciting time to be in the public transportation sector and we’re looking for a creative and supportive team player to join our team. Not only would you be joining an engaged organization, but you’d also get to enjoy flexible work arrangements, extended benefits and a pension plan as just a few of the benefits BC Transit employees are eligible for. Keep reading to find out if this role is meant for you!

What you'll be doing...

The Project Coordinator works collaboratively with Project Managers to coordinate activities of transit infrastructure projects that ensure achievement of cost, schedule, scope, document control, and quality standard requirements.

To illustrate what you could be doing in this role, this is what a day might look like:

Your morning could start off with attending a project meeting alongside the project manager and dealing with high priority situations. Situations could include things like supporting procurement of a contractor or design team, updating project costs and schedule, managing, and maintaining the risk register or drafting and sending out project communication.

After lunch you might be asked to sit in on a project meeting with the contractor or design firm and local partners. Your responsibility would be to take meeting minutes and then ensure they are distributed. After that, a program manager might ask you to support the development of a business case or future funding request for new infrastructure which aligns with the mandate of BC Transit.

Finally, you will end your day working with a program manager or larger teams to develop and implement new processes. As you can see, you’re part of a larger team made up of program managers, project managers, project coordinates and project analysts. Your team is there to help you ensure the day-to-day project coordination of the projects you support while also helping you work towards your future career goals.
