Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 10, MIN $6,443.00 - MAX $7,726.00 is available through annual general wage/step increases.

Recruitment Range: MIN $6,443 – STEP 3 $7,154.

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

What you'll be doing...

As the Revenue Analyst, you will be responsible for the development and sustainment of all data analysis and reporting for BC Transit’s fare collection technology solution. This role will play a key role in efforts to increase transit ridership and revenues across the province through identifying opportunities to achieve business objectives by utilizing the data produced by the fare technology solution and other available data sources. 

 

You will be:

  • Leading the ongoing development and regular reporting of a fare revenue and product usage and supporting the development of evidence-based recommendations for various audiences.
  • Supporting the efforts to maximize the benefit of BC Transit’s fare collection solution through using data outputs to identifying opportunities to develop new or expand existing fare products and programs.
  • Employing a variety of software tools, including Excel and Power BI, to organize and analyze various data sets and create dashboards and other tools as points of reference for various stakeholder audiences.
  • Managing the design, implementation and maintenance of reports and dashboards within Corporate Strategy and Performance, including report design, process flows, testing and documentation.
  • Supporting the ongoing monitoring of vendor and solution performance.
  • Following BC Transit data strategy and frameworks and undertakes regular quality control activities to ensure data integrity.

What you'll bring to the table...

We love lifelong learners and have found the following mix of education, certifications and experience have led people to be successful in the past:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in business, statistics, or computer science or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum of three years as an analyst or in a similar role. A combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize reporting software and business intelligence tools to organize, analyze and present data (especially PowerBI).
  • Exhibited excellent attention to detail and experience with quality control practices.
  • Experience with preparing reports, presentations or other documentation for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated high standard of customer service for a variety of stakeholders. 
  • Proven leadership skills to provide guidance, support and strategic direction to staff.
  • Experience establishing strong and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an environment that prioritizes continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities and issues at a time

 

Nice to Have’s include:

  • Transit experience and knowledge of onboard technology 
  • Experience in using database programming languages, including Python, SQL and R 
  • Experience with ETL, SQL, relational and non-relational databases and data warehouse solutions
