Senior Contract Analyst

Location: BC Transit is seeking a Senior Contract Analyst to live and work in one of the following areas:

  • Victoria/Cowichan
  • Vancouver
  • Kelowna
  • Other possible locations in BC

Employment Type: Regular Full Time

Salary: Exempt Band 3, MIN $73,900.00 - MAX $99,800.00

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In addition, our pay philosophy is to align with the median of the range and be considerate of internal equity comparisons.

What you'll be doing...

Our Manager, Procurement and Contract Administration is looking for someone to design, develop, and coordinate BC Transit’s commercial contracts. This includes but is not limited to Capital Acquisition, Construction, Maintenance Repair, IT, HR and Revenue generating contracts. 


You will provide guidance, advice with respect to commercial contracting, and procurement. In addition, you will lead commercial contract negotiations, including commercial contract disputes, and arbitrations. You’re also experienced with developing and implementing policies, procedures, standards and systems to optimize program effectiveness and service delivery for all areas of accountability.

  • Senior business related experience in similar positions with recent progressive purchasing and/or contract negotiation and supplier management. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and or experience may be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement/contract law.
  • In-depth knowledge of competitive bid processes.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with commercial contract law.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business, financial, technical and legal issues and develop solutions.
