Union: MOVEUP 

Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 12, MIN $7,668.00 - MAX $9,199.00 is available through annual general wage/step increases.

Recruitment Range: MIN $7,668 – STEP 3 $8,515.

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure Planning the Senior Planner, works with stakeholders to develop strategic plans for Transit Facilities to support development of future capital projects. The Senior Planner also maintains functional standards and specifications guidelines for transit facilities. Transit facilities include transit operations & maintenance centres, transit operator washrooms, bus parking, administration, storage and warehouse buildings to support transit services across the province (outside Metro Vancouver). The role reports to the Manager of Infrastructure Planning in BC Transit’s Asset Management & Engineering Department.

What you'll bring to the table...

We value lifelong learners and have found that a mix of any of the following credentials have set people up for success in this role in the past:

  • Post secondary degree in engineering, planning, architecture or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designations would be considered an asset
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) would be considered an asset
  • Architect AIBC would be considered an asset
  • Four (4) years related experience in managing complex transportation or facility planning projects
  • Experience functional planning for buildings is an asset
  • Experience in the preparation of staff reports and managing consultant led studies is an asset

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
